Congratulations to the following pupils who have got into the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain 2013.  They are S1 pupils Christopher Vettraino (oboe) and Campbell Lang (bassoon) and S2 pupils Lucy Gibson and Alice Beglan-Grant both on bassoon.

Our composer for the month of December is Zoltan Kodaly and the Desert Island Discs selection is brought to you by Ms Williams.  Pupils in certificate classes are encouraged to listen to the examples of music regardless of the genre.  If anybody is interested in being a guest on Desert Island Discs, please contact Ms Williams.

Congratulations to Richard Scholfield S5 who received the award for Outstanding Soloist yesterday at the Edinburgh and Glasgow Regional Event of the Scottish Concert Band Festival 2012.  Richard was performing on alto saxophone with the East Renfrewshire Senior Concert Band who are conducted by Kevin Price.  The band achieved the Gold Award on the day.
