S3 Summer Sport’s Day Challenge

Well done to all of our S3 Business Management classes for their excellent effort and participation in the Summer Sport’s Day Challenge.

All pupils were asked to create products to sell during Sport’s Day. The products on offer included ice cream, fruit kebabs and even chocolate covered apples. All of the products were a hit with the pupils and staff.  Many of the groups were successful in making a generous profit! Well done!

Exam Preparation Masterclasses

In preparation for the SQA exams, the Business Education department will run two masterclasses to help prepare students. The details are as follows:

Business Management Champions

Congratulations to S5 pupils Emma, Heather and Lara who finished in second place of the ‘Design a Sub’ competition!  Over 80 schools from across Scotland entered the competition and yesterday the team were invited to the final which was held at the Scottish Events Campus.  The girls pitched their concept, The Champion Sub, to a panel of judges who commended them on their marketing plan and presentation.  The team were presented with a £750 amazon voucher – well done !

Higher Business Management Subway Challenge

Higher business management pupils have been challenged to design and market a brand new Subway sandwich or flatbread with the prospect of seeing their Sub design go on sale in over 100 Subway stores throughout the region.  Yesterday, as part of the challenge, pupils ordered their proposed ‘Subs’ in order to undertake a taste test and photo shoot.

In addition, a National 5 Computing Science revision club for S3 and S4  students will also run on a Wednesday at lunchtime in room ICT 6 at 12.30pm.

This is an opportunity for students who are unable to attend supported study due to other subjects being on at the same time or for students requiring a bit of extra support with particular areas of the course. Students should bring their lunch.

The BICT department will be running two revision sessions for Higher pupils prior to their final exam.

Wednesday 10 May – Period 1, 2, 3 and 4.  Pupils should report to ICT 6.

Higher Business Management Revision Session

Wednesday 10 May Period 1, 2, 3 and 4.  Pupils should report to ICT 3.
