Understanding and Responding to Sensory Processing Needs in an Education Context

Welcome to this site which has been collaboratively developed by East Renfrewshire Educational Psychology Service and Greater Glasgow and Clyde Occupational Therapy Service. We hope you will find this site useful for developing your understanding of sensory processing and in particular your knowledge of how to support children and young people with sensory processing needs in an education context.

The videos, presentations and resources are designed for you to access the most relevant information to you at your own pace and in your own time. You are encouraged to reflect on your own practice and those strategies which are currently successful in the setting you work in as well as those which could be developed further. It might be helpful to work through on your own, with a colleague or as a whole staff team. We also welcome the opportunity to work with you to develop your knowledge, understanding and confidence.  For establishments in East Renfrewshire, to discuss further support please contact Ainsley or Vari:

ainsley.mcgoldrick@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk or Vari.Morrison@ggc.scot.nhs.uk

You will also find a range of different information, resources and support ideas from the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde KIDS site

Please help us to ensure the site is helpful for practitioners and to make improvements but giving us feedback in the feedback section.
