We wanted you to be one of the first to know that the KPMG Discovery programme is open for applications. It’s the chance for ambitious and enthusiastic students to gain an insight into life at KPMG and find out if a career in business is right for them.

This work experience programme offers Year 12 & S5 students the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience in the professional services industry whilst also developing the skills students need to build a successful career. We are offering this programme in all our offices across the UK.

The Programme

The KPMG Discovery programme will run in summer 2017 and give students an excellent insight into the work we do at KPMG and the way we do it. Specific dates and locations can be found here. During the programme students will undertake a series of business challenges, skills workshops and research tasks designed to develop some of the key skills needed to thrive at KPMG. Students will meet and network with KPMG staff across the business and on our 5-day and 3-day programmes, work shadow to see the type of work our staff undertake on a day-to-day basis.

The programme will also give students a chance to find out more about our range of School Leaver Programmes and students that complete the Discovery programme will be eligible to be fast tracked through the application stage for KPMG360º, KPMG’s rotational apprenticeship programme*.
*Subject to meeting the required academic requirements.

Academic Requirements

Students will need to be on track to achieve a minimum of 104 UCAS points at the end of their Year 13/S6 studies. They will also need to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs A*- C including English and Mathematics. (In Scotland, a minimum of five Standard Grades at grades 1-3 which must include Maths and English).

Widening Participation

KPMG are committed to helping improve social mobility. We are part of Access Accountancy, an initiative focused on improving access to our profession for young people from less advantaged backgrounds. We have set aside a number of places on our KPMG Discovery Programme for students who meet the following Access Accountancy criteria:

• Attend a state school and college
• Are or have been eligible for free school meals (or attend a school that have above the regional average in terms of number of students eligible for FSM.) Or
• Would be the first generation in their immediate family to attend university.
