5B November Update

Hi from 5B!

November has been a very busy but fun month here in 5B!

We have really enjoyed making our Christmas crafts for enterprise. This will help to raise much needed funds to buy things for us.

As part of book week, we made alternative book covers for our favourite book and we watched an author live with the author Danny Wallace, he was so funny!

We have been learning about the battles and famous heroes during the wars of independence; we are loving learning about them.

As part of anti-bullying week, we learned about different types of bullying and what to do if you are being bullied. As part of this lesson we wrote  a positive comment anonymously about everyone in the class. They then made these into ‘I am’ positive thinking statements which they can look back on at times when they need to be strong.

We have been focusing on writing imaginative stories which contain dialogue and descriptive vocabulary.

In Maths we have been learning symmetry, time, division and solving problems. We are also focusing on our multiplication facts and need to keep practising these at home so that we can survive longest when we play elimination.

In French we have been learning the months of the year and reciting our numbers.

We played hide and seek in the forest and learned all about camouflage.

We took part in  Christmas card competition to create a design for a local MP. We had a runner up in our class and her design will now be sent to print works!

We all had or second session at our committee which is excellent for giving us a voice.

We are really looking forward to the Christmas Extravaganza on Thursday!

Thanks for reading!
