Programme details
ACCESS Commercial Law is a virtual programme for secondary school students interested in law.
You’ll get the chance to find out what a career in law is really like through a series of online events and one-to-one mentoring.
Through interactive panel discussions, you’ll hear directly from legal professionals about what the job involves day to day, how to stand out when applying to law firms, and how to make the most of your time at university or in the legal world. You’ll also be paired with a mentor who works in law, delivered in partnership with mentoring organisation Zero Gravity.
Everything takes place online, so you can join no matter where you are in the country. All you need is access to the internet and a computer, laptop, tablet, or phone. Sessions are scheduled during term time, just after the school day finishes, so you can join from home or school — whatever works best for you.

- Session 5: Social Mobility — Harnessing Your Strengths: 23rd February 2027, from 16:30 – 17:15
- Session 6: Preparing for university and the workplace: 23rd March 2027, from 16:30 – 17:15
Who can apply?
You can apply if:
- you are interested in studying law at university or gaining employment in a law-related field after school/university
- You are studying in your penultimate or final year of secondary school (Year 12/13 in England & Wales; S5/S6 Scotland; Year 13/14 Northern Ireland and 5th/6th Year Republic of Ireland).
- You are attending a state funded, non-fee paying school/college or are attending a fee paying school on a 100% bursary
- You must also meet one or more of our additional criteria outlined on our ACCESS Commercial Law webpage
