Rolls-Royce Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship
Rolls-Royce Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship
When you’re building, manufacturing, inspecting or repairing some of the most advanced engines and power systems in the world or the tools and machinery that support them, you need to be an expert at what you do. That’s why we invest so much in training our Advanced Engineering Apprentices and offer the sort of real-world experience you can’t get anywhere else.
Join us and you’ll contribute to our pioneering work, getting up close with our amazing products. You can expect all the training and qualifications you need to get your ideas noticed, and the support to develop your skills and knowledge. We’ll help you shape your future and build a great career.
What you’ll do
In your first year, you’ll gain a strong foundation in the practical skills you need – either at our Apprentice Academy in Derby, or with one of our approved training providers across the UK. Over the following three years, you’ll broaden and deepen your knowledge through a range of attachments within one of our businesses, Civil Aerospace, Defence or Submarines, all the while working towards completing your Apprenticeship Standard and gaining relevant engineering qualifications.
This is hands-on work. And whether you’re producing, building or maintaining Rolls-Royce products, or making and maintaining the tools we need to a high standard, you’ll be making a big impact. Throughout your apprenticeship you can expect to train on state-of-the-art products, equipment and machinery. All while being guided and supported by engineering experts.
You’ll be working on live projects and earn as you learn through formal training as well as practical experience.
What could you become?
We have roles as: Fitter, Instrument Technician, Machinist, Welder, Mechatronics -Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical. You’ll develop specialist skills in your chosen area.
What you’ll need
For roles in Scotland, you’ll need 4 National 5s in Maths, English and Physics plus one other subject at grade A-C.
Beyond your qualifications, we want to see evidence that you’re genuinely interested in the practical side of engineering or hands on activities. For example, we’d like to hear if you enjoy working on cars or bike; or about an engineering or practical project you’ve done at school or home or a club you’ve been involved with. We’ll provide you with a fantastic framework and all the opportunities you need to progress, but it’ll be up to you to lead own your development. So, you must be full of initiative, adaptable, eager to learn and driven to succeed.
What you’ll get
On top of a competitive salary, you can look forward to an excellent range of big-company benefits. But the best reasons to join us are the outstanding career support you’ll enjoy from day one, the debt-free qualifications you’ll have at the end of it, and the chance to build an amazing career in an environment where you can be yourself and be your best. At Rolls-Royce, you’ll be included, supported, recognised, developed and empowered to succeed.
