Primary 1 are loving STEM week!

It is British Science Week and we have been having lots of visitors and exciting activities to do!

We had some lovely St Ninians pupils teaching us how to make a Lava Lamp in the STEM room.     “Look at the bubbles!” -Beth

“Why does the water not mix with the oil?” Jamie

We had Mrs Foley visit us to tell us all about eyes and being an Optometrist.

“There are six muscles in each eye.” – Hollie

“When you are older you can wear contact lenses instead of glasses.” Amelia B

Then Rennie came to tell us all about the wind turbines at Whitelee Wind Farm. We loved going outside and testing the wind using the wind sock.

“The wind is a moderate breeze.” Joseph

“It is number 4 on the scale (Beaufort No.)” Ben

“The wind was really strong.” Angus

“The wind is going at 20-29 km per hour” Jamie

Erin ” I liked choosing my tasks for homework on certain days.”

Ben “I spoke to my mum and wrote down what makes a good friend. I think a good friend shares toys, is kind and plays safely.”

Ella A ” I read a book at home to my mummy. Mum asked me some questions about the book and I wrote down the answers.”

Jamie ” I thought about Scotland and the Burks of Aberfeldy which is in Scotland. I have been there with my family.”
