This week we celebrated the Baptism of Jesus. We learned all about the Sacrament of Baptism and shared this with our parents during assembly. We loved learning the Mallaig Sprinkling Song and performing it in front of our parents and friends. Everyone said that we were amazing! We are very proud of ourselves.
P1 had lots of fun at their Christmas party. They even had a special visitor!
Primary 1 had a great time when Carol the Librarian came to visit today. She sang songs with us and read us a story.
Everyone got a free bag of books to read at home. We will all vote on our favourite story next week.
P1 have now been taught all of the 42 initial Jolly Phonics sounds and are beginning to apply their knowledge in a variety of reading and writing activities. Homework for the next few weeks will focus on practising these, as well as sight vocabulary.
Suggestions for activities to revise and consolidate phonics and an additional copy of the sight vocabulary issued so far are available below.
P1e have been using books and technology to find out about different countries. We particularly enjoyed finding out about artists, including Gaudi, Andy Warhol and Vincent Van Gogh.
We worked together to create a tall tower. Do you like the pattern?
Primary 1b have been using Kindle Fires to develop their reading skills.
Primary 1a and 1b loved the new additions to the outdoor classroom. We are very grateful to all of the families who helped to create a wonderful space for us to learn.
Primary 1d enjoyed using the Chrome books with P6 pupils to revise Jolly Phonics sounds.
