Digital Technology Week
P3c were lucky enough to learn about how people use technology in the wider environment. We used ozbots which were mini robots. We designed pathways for the ozbot to follow.
Local Area Topic
As part of of our Local Area topic, we have been enjoying the outdoors and conducting a traffic survey of the different vehicles which pass our school. We then created this information into graphs.
Library Visit
We walked to Giffnock Library and were lucky enough to find out about the different ways we can use the library and each selected a book to take back to class. We found out about the history of the library and had a look through some books about the history of the local area.
Science Centre Trip
A reminder that we will be going to Glasgow Science Centre next Tuesday (5th June). Children can bring a packed lunch if they wish or order a baguette from the school which we will bring with us.
Eastwood House
This afternoon as part of our Outdoor learning, we went to Eastwood House to learn more about our Local Area which is our topic. We found out about the history of Eastwood House and then did a quiz about what we learned.
VR Headsets
During Digital Technology Week we have been using a range of technology to enhance our learning experiences. Have a look at us trying out the VR headsets.
Local Area topic
We have been using the Chromebooks to find out about local businesses in our area and why they are important to the local community. Then we created some information leaflets about a local business.
We also designed our own business which we thought the community needed. We had to think of a name for the business, what it would sell or provide and explain why it would be important.
Tennis Fun
Primary 3c had a fantastic morning practising their tennis skills through a range of activities.
At this station we were working with our partners using sticky bats and foam balls.
At this station we were controlling the tennis balls simultaneously. We had to use teamwork and coordination skills.
Then we practised hitting the ball with tennis rackets while our partners threw the ball to us.
This group were using foam bats to practise their skills with their partners.

Digital Technology
We tried using the Virtual Reality Headsets which we have recently got in the school! We absolutely loved using them!

We also enjoyed practising our times tables through multiplication snap!

We have been working together in small groups to discuss the importance of our rights and responsibilities which we have been learning about in our topic!
Primary 3 would like to say a big Thank you to their families and friends who came along to celebrate their stage Mass today.
It was a very special afternoon for them. We are very proud of you Primary 3.
Primary 3 enjoyed World Book Day and took part in a range of activities in each class. Have a look below!
Today, at Eastwood Theatre, Primary 3 were very lucky to be the audience for Primary 6’s Easter Cantata. And what a treat it was!
Primary 6 did a magnificent job of retelling the story of Easter. Some of us were very proud of siblings but we were all extremely entertained by everyone’s wonderful acting and singing.
Primary 3 really enjoyed their experience at the theatre.
When we came back to school, we chatted about what we thought of the Primary 6’s special performance.
In RE we have been focusing on the theme of Catholic Education Week- Serving the Common Good. We have been learning about how we can all work together to do this and created leaflets and posters about ways in which we can do this in our own lives.
Our Music specialist has been busy working with us again. We have been listening to the story of Peter and the Wolf and identifying the different instruments we hear in the story.
In Science we have been learning about germs and diseases. We enjoyed carrying out an experiment on a potato in which we predicted and then tested where most germs would grow on a potato which had been outside, in a control bag, on the floor or which had touched our hands. The conclusion we found was that most germs grew on the potato which had been on the ground outside however our hands and the floor also had lots of germs!
We have been learning about different angles in numeracy and have learned to identify a right, straight, obtuse and acute angle. For outdoor learning we had to create numbers using sticks and identify with the cubes the angles in each number.
We have been learning about the work of a Scottish artist called Steven Brown. After learning about his life and his work we have been replicating his work. Have a look at some of the amazing giraffes that we produced using coloured pencil. Next we will be drawing Highland cows and using oil pastels as our media.
