P5c – Living a healthy lifestyle!

We have been learning about how to live a healthier lifestyle.  We have been exploring lots of different food alternatives that are better for us, but still taste delicious!

This week, in writing, we wrote instructions of how to make a healthy pizza! They sounded so tasty, we decided to make them! 🙂

Look how well we did.  They are healthy and tasted yum!

Well done Primary 5c you did a great job! Try and re make them at home for your families 🙂

Sports Leaders at St Ninian’s

Primary 5 A & B enjoyed their trip to St Ninian’s for Athletics. It was great fun working with the S6 Sports Leaders and developing our skills in running, jumping and throwing. We tested our balance and coordination through the games and really enjoyed working as a team for the baton relay!

Outdoor Learning

Primary 5a had their first Outdoor Learning experience of the year. It poured with rain but we were wrapped up and had a ball. We looked for inspiration in nature to create some artwork but mostly enjoyed exploring our environment and finding puddles to jump in!

Global Play Day

Primary 4a thoroughly enjoyed Global Play Day on Wednesday. They worked will with their peers to develop key skills whilst having fun playing games.

The class agreed that by taking part in games they were developing their team work skills, independence and sense of responsibility. Kian even suggested that it was the perfect chance to make new friends!

A Busy Time in P4b!

It has been a busy time in Primary 4b!

Primary 7 came and read some of Jesus’ miracles to us during Catholic Education Week.

Mr Harris came from St Ninian’s to teach us Scratch Coding. We have enjoyed programming our Cat and Pokemon and we are even creating our own games!

Mrs Neil came and introduced us to the Hour of Code website where we created a Dance Music Video! It was great fun and we are looking forward to using it again during  Hour of Code Week.

We have been working with our writing partners to write disaster stories called The Nightmare Just Before Christmas, they’re coming along nicely!

When we were asked to create poems about Autumn but winter had almost arrived, we used the VR Headsets to go on an Autumn Walk and use our sense of sight. We then went outside to find inspiration for our other senses!

A busy week in P4a!

Primary 4a are enjoying taking part in the First Minister’s Reading Challenge and have created a bar chart to keep a record of how many books they have read. They participated in Drop It and Read last week for Book Week. When they heard the whistle go off in class they stopped what they were doing and read their private reading books.

We are taking part in The Hour of Code and to launch this Mrs Neil introduced us to some very exciting coding websites. Primary 4a are extremely talented and writing their own games and activities using different coding software. Use the links on Glow to show off your coding skills at home too!

Chloe brought in her world record attempt for tap to show the class. A very well deserved certificate!

P4c’s Autumn Walk

We had a lovely time on our Autumn Walk today! We were all outside, listening to the sounds of Autumn.  It was a beautiful day and we recorded lots of adjectives and descriptions in our notes.

Next week we will be writing Autumn Poems based on our experiences… we are going to make them as descriptive as possible!

Then finished off our walk with a quick game of tig, led by Ethan – our Work Experience student from St Ninians.  It’s been great having him along to work with us today!
