A Busy Time in P4b!

It has been a busy time in Primary 4b!

Primary 7 came and read some of Jesus’ miracles to us during Catholic Education Week.

Mr Harris came from St Ninian’s to teach us Scratch Coding. We have enjoyed programming our Cat and Pokemon and we are even creating our own games!

Mrs Neil came and introduced us to the Hour of Code website where we created a Dance Music Video! It was great fun and we are looking forward to using it again duringĀ  Hour of Code Week.

We have been working with our writing partners to write disaster stories called The Nightmare Just Before Christmas, they’re coming along nicely!

When we were asked to create poems about Autumn but winter had almost arrived, we used the VR Headsets to go on an Autumn Walk and use our sense of sight. We then went outside to find inspiration for our other senses!

P4c’s Autumn Walk

We had a lovely time on our Autumn Walk today! We were all outside, listening to the sounds of Autumn.Ā  It was a beautiful day and we recorded lots of adjectives and descriptions in our notes.

Next week we will be writing Autumn Poems based on our experiences… we are going to make them as descriptive as possible!

Then finished off our walk with a quick game of tig, led by Ethan – our Work Experience student from St Ninians.Ā  It’s been great having him along to work with us today!

Autumn

Primary 4a have been exploring the season of autumn this week and developing skills across the curriculum. Have a look at some of the work we have been doing.

We explored some autumn pictures using the VR headsets. We discussed what we could see with our peers and used the scenes as a stimulus for creating our own autumn pictures using different textures.

Lastly, we applied all our ideas to writing and wrote our own acrostic poems!
