Primary 3!

We have had a wonderful week in Primary 3!
We enjoyed games with the whole of P3.
We also  completed lots of our targets this week such as making a feeling monster and sensory spelling.

Meet Cookie! Our class teddy! We used a pictagram to choose her name. This is our travelling ted who will be coming home with one pupil on Friday! Please complete the worksheet to share with us what Cookie gets up to at the weekend! Everyone will have a turn of Cookie throughout the year!

We have also really enjoyed learning some tennis skills which we will be working on throughout this term.

Science Fair

A big well done to all of P2 for completing fantastic science fair projects. All children were able to talk confidently about different science topics to children and adults across the school and also to our parents and families. Well done for all your hard work P2 and a big thankyou to everyone who came along to celebrate our very last Make Your Mark achievement.

Make Your Mark

As part of our Mark you Mark passport, we’ve been preparing and trying a simple recipe. We’ve been learning all about Oats. We’ve had a virtual visit to a farm in Stirling and seen the journey from seed to store. So we used Scottish Oats to make flapjacks.

We took turns to pour, weigh, stir, flatten and decorate.

Everyone had a taste and it was a thumbs up all round!

Forest school

Another wonderful day at the forest for P2. This week we worked on different knots as part of our Make Your mark achievements.

We were working on larksfoot, over hand and half stitch. Pupils worked in pairs to practise the knots.

Being able to tie a knot is a life long skill and everyone displayed resilience as they worked towards tying heir knots. Well done everyone!

Forest school

This week we were working towards our Make you Mark achievement. Learning about lean to shelters. Pupils foraged for sticks to build a strong shelter than would keep their character safe and dry.

They worked in pairs and showed good team work, communicating, sharing and making decisions together.

Of course there was also plenty time for climbing and exploring. We also found a Fern root ball and the children were full of stories of mice, hedgehogs and other forest animals it looked like.

Foreat School returns!

P2 were over the moon to be back to school and back in the Forest this week. Together they explored the environment, visited Grandfather tree and set off for an adventure. They were straight to work climbing trees, making ‘concrete’, playing on the rope swing and of course looking for worms.

They work in teams to create, explore and climb, all topped off with a lovely singsong around the camp.

It was great to see how much everyone enjoyed the day and we are looking forward to next week.
