Amazing Research!

The boys and girls have presented their research about animals in the rainforest so well! They tried hard to project their voice. They all were well prepared for their presentation and produced amazing slide shows, posters and models!

I was so impressed! šŸ‘ Thank you everyone for your hard work! āļø

This week have been learningā€¦

We have been learning about the talented Tim Burton. Inspired by his work we created portraits of Jack Skeleton using the visual elements of colour, sale and line. Arnā€™t they wonderful!

Today to celebrate all the work we have done on Georgeā€™s Marvellous Medicine we have a Marvellous Day!

First we created our own recipes for our own marvellous medicines.

Then we undertook a dissolving science experiment. šŸ§Ŗ

Targets!

We have been consolidating our learning through our targets.

The boys and girls have been creating posters about the rainforest, using speech marks and commas, completing vertical addition calculations, creating fitness routines for their friends and creating feelings monsters!

HWB: Healthy Smoothie

We have been learning about a balanced diet.
Today we tasted some fruit, we also created a healthy smoothie recipe and then had a go at preparing the drink using a variety of utensils. This was our first Mark Your Mark experience of Primary 3! The boys and girls are very proud of themselves for preparing the smoothie and tasting it!

Rainforest Art

Our topic this term is the rainforest, the boys and girls have created fabulous questions with what they would like to learn about. Lots of pupils asked questions about the aniamls in the rainforest so today we made a start learning about the animals that live in the canopy (where most animal in the rainforest live). We were exited to learn facts about the toucan and also created amazing drawings focusing on the visual elements of colour, scale and composition.

The pictures below show the boys and girls viewing each others work, giving each other a compliment and also learning about being a critical friend.

The winning group with an amazing tripod structure with a swinging tower! Ā

We took our learning outside today to enjoy the sunshine! ā˜€ļø

We were using our metacognitive skills of communicate and collaboration. The boys and girls stated lots of other skills they were using in this challenge too! The STEAM challenge this afternoon was to become an engineer and made a tripod structure using spaghetti and marshmallows. We looked at real life structure like the Eiffel tower for inspiration. Every group worked together well and created an interesting structure.
