Health and Wellbeing

Inspired by Kandinsky we created wonderful art work using the visual elements colour and shape to express our feelings. We discussed different colours which are associated with emotions.

Thank you to everyone who has created a Worry Monster! We have been sharing worries and discussing how it can help to share a worry. Feed your worry monster your worries and you no longer have to think about it!

Thank you also to J for working hard at home to create a presentation about his religion, delivering it so well and teaching us more about Islam!

RE

We have been learning  about Global Goal: World Hunger. We have decided to try to make a change by supporting Mary’s Meals. We have learned about the inspirational Magnus McFarland-Barrow. We created love hearts to show how we can spread love like Mary’s Meals.

We have also been learning about St. Kentigern, the patron Saint of Glasgow. Everyone created a wonderful fact file about him.

Christmas Around the World

This week we have been learning some French Christmas words. We made Joyeux Noel cards, drawing  la Nativite.

We have been learning about the power of Google and other search engines, also that we can’t believe everything we read on the internet!

Using what we learned we researched Christmas traditions around the world. Then we made our own leaflets!

P3 raised £170 for Mary’s Meals!

A big well done and congratulations to everyone in primary 3 for not only raising £170 for Mary’s Meals, a charity we have been learning about this year as we explore the global goal of zero world hunger. But also for raising awareness about Mary’s Meals through their information posters as well as informing others with confidence during our Christmas Fair. Your enterprise was amazing!

Writing

We have been working on creating information reports in writing. We have created information reports on animals in the rainforest, Scotland and today we created an information report about the inspirational woman we have been learning about; Malala, Rosa Parks and Marie Curie.
The boys and girls have learned so much about researching and were excellent working with a partner to answer questions about each inspirational person before writing their report.
The boys and girls blow me away with their research from home too! They showed off their note taking skills too, making use of bullet points in a list and mind maps.
