Thank you to the Rights Respecting Committee for leading a lesson on this months article, article 22- refugee children. This week is refugee week UK and we leaned about children around the world who have to flee their homes because it’s not safe. We read Paddington and compared the story to the life of the life of a refugee.

Sports Day/ Rainbow Art
We had a fantastic day at sports day!
We have been learning about pointillism in art and created excellent rainbows using this technique. We also created amazing rainbows from a variety of materials in STEM, working collaboratively.
Global Goals: life under the sea
We have been learning about the coral reef and the damage climate change is doing to it!
Today we created natural photo frames of coral reefs.
Team work!
We enjoyed a fun Kahoot quiz afternoon challenging our knowledge of number, the environment and animals. Well done to our winning groups!
Fischy Music
We had another exciting day in P3a today, Fischy Music came to visit starting with a workshop learning g some new songs and finished today with an awesome concert, we sang our heart out to our old favourites! What a wonderful way to celebrate an outstanding year!
Primary 3 Trip to Museum of Rural Life
We have had a fabulous day at The Museum of Rural Life! We had a tractor ride, a hill walk, a trip to the working farm where we seen newly born calves, lambs, Clydesdale horses and hens with baby chicks! We then learned so much about food miles, ingredients from the farm and where food comes from!
Measure
We have been learning about length this week. We have been measuring in cm and m. We took our learning outdoors this morning and drew round each other and measured our length.
Writing a Narrative
We have been leaning to write a narrative. We have created outstanding character descriptions of the character in our class novel The Twits by Roald Dahl. Today we focused on creating the orientation of a narrative, looking at The Wormy Spagetti chapter. P3a have developed excellent skills in drama this year and were excellent at acting out the characters of Mr and Mrs Twit. We had some super narrators too!
Maths – Directions
Inspired by the live lesson on digital literacy last week we took our learning outdoors today and created grid maps. We placed dinosaur somewhere on the map then gave our partners directions using grid references to move the car.
RE/ Drama The Lost Son
We retold the parable of The Lost Son using role play this afternoon.
