Engineering- STEM
This week we have been using the engineering process of ASK, IMAGINE, CREATE AND IMPROVE. Ask your child to tell you all about your engineering skills.
Numeracy Blueprints
On Monday 12th September, we had a visit from Mr McKenna and he taught us how to use our numeracy blueprints. We looked at different numeracy strategies and how we can use these strategies in our everyday.
Problem Solving
During the next few weeks we’ll be developing our problem solving strategies. Our first focus is Act out the situation.
For the first lesson, pupils used concrete materials to count and calculate the answer. Through this lesson they demonstrated skills in resilience, independence and creativity.
Handwashing
We have been revisiting good routines to keep our bodies clean and health.
We talked about the importance of keeping our hands clean and washing our hands before and after different activities.
Then we painted our hands, made our mark and then had to wash the paint off our hands.
The children did a great job at getting all the paint of their hands.
