Local Farming: Milk and Cheese

This week we have looked at farms a little closer to home. We have been learning about Dairy farms.
We talked about the process of milking the cows and then how the milk might be used.
Some of the children were surprised that milk is a key ingredient in cheese.

Next we had a cheese taste test.

There were mixed reviews across the board. Cheddar and Edam were the most familiar and popular cheeses. We also tried Feta and learned that feta is made from sheep and goats milk.

I was very impressed that many of the children had a try of the cheeses! Well done P2.

Later this week we’ll be participating in a live lesson as part of British Science Week about farming.
