Sharing our Elf stories

Over the last few weeks Primary 5 have been writing their own stories about elves to share with Primary 1 and Primary 2.  They had to consider the audience they were writing for and had to go through the redrafting process. After this they made books and illustrated them.

Once they had completed the book, they had to consider how they were going to read the book to younger children, considering their tone, expression and volume.

Primary 2a were very impressed.

Spelling homework will be handed out tomorrow – apologies for the delay.

Class Trip FAQs

When are we leaving?

We are leaving as close to 9am as soon as possible.

Can we bring disposable bags?

Yes it’s up to you whether or not to send the lunch boxes and disposable bags . However they are your child’s responsibility. I would encourage all pupils to bring a water bottle.

We will have a very short lunch around 25 minutes this is to accommodate a visit to both locations.

Are we to wear school uniform?

Yes, although I would recommend trainers, a warm jacket and perhaps a hat or scarf. Stirling Castle is mainly outside and we will be walking around it.

Are we allowed to touch the armour and swords?

Leaders at Bannockburn will let you know what you can touch during our 2 hour session.

Do you need to bring your school bag?

No need. Although School clubs will still be on after school.

PE Wednesday

Great fun in PE on Wednesday.

One activity was a sophisticated game of noughts and crosses involving team work and strategy. Another involved agility and awareness as the class had to work to catch the cones.  This proved challenging as they had to keep aware of the others around them.

Anti Bullying week

This week is national recognised as Anti-bullying week. It is an opportunity to discuss bullying, in order to prevent and also to reinforce what to do if it occurs.

Our choir members led a school to reinforce this message at assembly. Well done to all the children who participated in this!!! A brilliant achievement.

Many pupils wore odd socks to mark this week!

In class we completed a quiz about key words and phrases used around bullying. This was then an opportunity to discuss some misconceptions.  Our quiz winners are below.
