St Andrew’s Day – Friday 29^th November
To mark St Andrew’s Day the children will be participating in a variety of activities. There will be learning opportunities throughout the day to find out about traditions and celebrations linked to St Andrew.  On Friday 29^th November children should come to school in their uniform as normal, if they would like to, they can add something tartan to it – scarf, tie, skirt, kilt etc. Continue reading →

Farewell from Mrs Kerr
As my post at Netherlee comes to an end, I would like to thank everyone for their kind words, support and kindness over the last 12 years.  We are so lucky in Netherlee to have such wonderful children, supportive staff and welcoming families, and it’s this that makes Netherlee truly special and leaving more difficult. I’m really excited about starting my new job on Monday and certainly won’t forget the Netherlee years.

We’re delighted to let you know that Miss Elliott has been successful in securing an Acting Principal Teacher post here at Netherlee. She will start her new role on Monday 11^th November and we’re sure she will do a fantastic job! Continue reading →

Dogs
A reminder please to request that dogs are kept on a lead if bringing them to the gates and surrounding areas at pick up and drop off times.  Please could we ask that all dogs are kept back from the school gates. This is to help keep everyone safe and also to recognise that some children and adults may be a little scared of dogs that are off the lead.  Many thanks for your help and understanding with this. Farewell Mrs Kerr
Many of our families know Mrs Angela Kerr very well as she would have worked with you if/ when your child started at our Netherlee Nursery.  I am truly delighted to share the wonderful news that Angela has recently secured a Head Teacher position at Cartmill Family Centre.  I am sure you will want to join me in wishing Angela much happiness and continued success throughout her future career.  Angela’s last day at Netherlee will be Friday 8^th November.  We will miss you greatly Angela but I couldn’t be happier for you and know that you will do a fantastic job in your new nursery. Medically Prescribed Diet Records
The catering staff are currently updating their medically prescribed diet records. If your child has any allergies or requires a medically prescribed diet, please can you fill in and return the form by Friday 4^th October. This form will replace the previous version so please fill in the attached form even if you have already sent one in and we will update our system. Primary 5-7: Williamwood High School Art & Design Department Fashion Show – Thursday 3^rd October
On Thursday 3^rd October, the Art & Design Department at Williamwood will be holding their Fashion Show. This year they have invited pupils from the cluster primary schools to create designs and come along to present them at the show. It is open to anyone from P5, 6 & 7 that would like to participate. Pupils can enter individual designs or work in a group. Attached is information provided by the Art & Design Department, further information has also been posted in your child’s Google Classroom. Chatter Café
All nursery and school parents and carers are very welcome to come along to our Chatter Café on Friday 13th September from 9:15am until 10am in our school Hub. This is an extremely informal opportunity to chat to members of the Leadership Team and to meet other parents and carers.   It is always really helpful to share ideas and thoughts about Netherlee life and to enjoy a coffee/ tea together. You’ll also be able to enjoy some delicious home baking, made and served by a group of pupils too! Please do pop in if you can, even just for 10minutes- we really look forward to seeing you. Water bottles
Please could we remind all parents and carers that children should bring a clear, named water bottle to school every day. We have noticed recently that many children are bringing juice into school in their water bottles. Please could we ask that water bottles are filled with water only and a reminder that these can be refilled at any of our water stations throughout the school day. Thank you. Continue reading →
