Hello everyone,

Upcoming Events
Please have a look at the parent calendar, available on our Netherlee Website, to see all the dates and times of the various events coming up.  This link will take you straight there https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/er/sandnc/calendar.

Just a wee reminder that our recycled uniform rails are available each Monday, between 8.50am – 9am (P1-3 smaller items) and 3pm – 3.10pm (P4-P7 middle and larger sizes) at the Clarkston Road School Gate.  These items are free of charge so please do pop along and make use of this facility. Also, remember that we are happy to look out items for you if you cannot make it along on a Monday, just email in to school using the usual link SchoolMail@netherlee.e-renfrew.sch.uk, letting us know the item and size and we will have a look for you.

Tuck in School at Interval
Teachers and catering staff have asked me to remind all children and parents that children from P3-7 should only go along to buy Tuck on their designated Tuck Day please.  These are:

P1 and P2 no tuck available to buy in school any day
P3 Monday
P4 Tuesday
P5 Wednesday
P6 Thursday
P7 Friday

Some children have been going along to Tuck out with their Tuck Day resulting in long queues and the children whose Tuck Day it is often not getting Tuck before the end of interval.

Children from P1- P7 are of course welcome any day to bring a small snack for Tuck from home if they wish to. In addition to this, please note that fruit isn’t available any day at interval but is always available in abundance at lunch time.

Thank you for discussing this at home with your child.

ERC Lunch Hero Leo
Following the huge success of last year’s initiative, where pupils played a key role in shaping the menu, the catering team is relaunching the Lunch Hero Leo Recipe Competition! If anyone wishes to, pupils can submit their favourite recipes, with the top entries being shortlisted and taste tested early next year.  All recipe submissions should be returned by Monday 27 March 2026. Entries can be handed directly to the kitchen or emailed directly to the Facilities Management inbox listed in the attached information.  The winning school will receive a special visit from Lunch Lion Leo, a fun reward to celebrate their creativity! Let’s encourage our young people to get inspired in the kitchen and showcase their culinary talents.

Feedback Friday
Just a reminder that on Friday 27th March, it is Feedback Friday. Can all home learning jotters/project work be brought into school with your child.

Celebrating Children’s Achievements
We always enjoy celebrating our children’s achievements, both in and out of school however, this session, we are making some changes to this process after speaking to groups of children and getting feedback from them.

Any out of school and any in-school achievements will now be displayed proudly on our lovely new House display boards. Please drop by to have a look any time you are in school, these are located in the link corridor leading off the atrium. These achievements can be big or small as we recognise that even what may appear as a small achievement to one person can be a huge success to another e.g. Learning to ride a bike or gaining a badge at swimming. In order to submit the information about your child’s out of school achievements, please complete the Google Form using the link below.  Please note the link will feature each week in our Friday newsletter and you are welcome to send in achievements at any time.

Achievements Outside of School Google Form

No photographs are required. We will display your child’s name, details of their achievement and their house colour on the House Boards which we hope to fill with lots of wonderful achievements as we know so many of our children do fabulous things out with school.  As always, we would be very grateful for any feedback from parents/ carers in relation to this.

Please drop into Cart Mill Family Centre on 25th March between 9-1pm if you wish to speak to the team. Due to previously busy hubs, we would advise dropping in before 12.30pm.

Primary 2a: Animal Habits
As part of our upcoming learning activities, we will be making our own animal habits in class next week. To support this, we would be grateful for any junk modelling supplies you may have at home. It would also be fantastic if we could have any shoeboxes you are finished with to build the habits in. Thank you so much.

Primary 2-7: IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDER: Playgrounds and Cage Area at drop off and pick up times
To ensure the safety of all children, please do not enter any playground, or stand at the Cage Area near Saplings Nursery, just before, during or just after drop-off and pick-up times. This includes using the large playgrounds as “walkthroughs” to access Clarkston Road.

Staff are on hand each morning to welcome the children and again at the end of the day to ensure they are dismissed safely. Keeping the playground and Cage Area clear of adults who are not school staff, ensures we can supervise properly and maintain a calm environment for all pupils.

Thank you for your support and cooperation, it makes a big difference in keeping these busy times safe and manageable for everyone.

Primary 4-7: Easter Church Service
Our Church Service will be at Netherlee Church on Wednesday 1st April 2026. The service will start at 11:15am and will last approximately one hour.  One parent of the children performing in the choir, as a reader or a musician have been invited to come along on the day if they can.

As always, we would encourage parents/carers to allow all children to attend the service in the church. In school, we learn about All World Religions. Children do not require to pray or sing if attending but do benefit from attending with friends and this church service offers another opportunity to learn about religious traditions and celebrations.

Any parents/carers who DO NOT wish their children to attend the church service must notify the school office by 25th March 2026. We need to finalise the numbers of children not attending by this date to arrange suitable teaching staff to work with the children who will be remaining in the school. If the office are not informed by this date, we will assume that children will be attending the church service and will plan accordingly.

Primary 7: Transition Evening
Please find attached a letter from Williamwood regarding the re-scheduled P7 transition evening on Thursday 23rd April.

Primary 7: School Show – Dress Rehearsals
Our dress rehearsals will take place on 23rd and 24th April. To help prepare for these, we would greatly appreciate your support in providing a few basic clothing items that your child may already have at home. Please do not purchase any items specifically for this if you do not already have them, as the school will be able to source any clothing your child does not have.  If you are not able to provide the requested item(s), please let us know by Wednesday 25th March so that we have sufficient time to organise any additional pieces that may be needed.

All items should be brought into school in a plastic bag labelled with your child’s name, and all costumes require to be in school by Tuesday 21st April. Children should be able to change into and out of their costumes independently.

Clothing list for the following characters:
Zazu – White t-shirt
Lionesses – Beige tights (thick enough for under a tutu) and black shorts
Young Nala – Black shorts
Shenzai – Black leggings
Ed/zed & Banzai – Black joggers
Hyenas – Black leggings/joggers
Zebras – Black leggings/joggers
Monkeys – Black leggings/joggers
Elephants – Grey leggings/joggers

If your child’s character is not listed above, their costume is more specific and will be provided by the school. Please still send your child with a bag, clearly labelled with their name, even if the full costume is provided by the school. Thank you for your continual support. – P7 Teachers

As always, we are always here to help in any way we can, whether that be about your own child or a more general matter in relation to the school or nursery.  We are also always looking for suggestions and new ideas so please don’t hesitate to get in touch at any time.

Have a good weekend.
