Chatter Café
Our next Chatter Café is on Wednesday 8 October and we look forward to welcoming you in for a cuppa and a catch up. We hope you are able to join us.
Achievements
We love celebrating the children’s achievements both in nursery and at home, and we’d be delighted if you could share special moments from outside of nursery too. Whether it’s learning a new skill, showing kindness, or simply making you proud, these experiences help us to build a fuller picture of your child’s development. Please feel free to send in photos, notes, or stories so we can share their successes with the nursery community and celebrate them together. Click on the Achievements link below to share achievements with us.
Care Plans
We kindly ask all parents and carers to return their child’s care plan as soon as possible, ensuring that any significant or updated information is included. Having these details helps us to provide the best care and support for each child, keeping them safe, comfortable, and happy throughout the day. Thank you for your prompt cooperation.
Naming Belongings
Labelling, or clearly marking with a dark pen, belongings for nursery-aged children is very important because it helps prevent items from getting lost or mixed up with others. Young children often have similar coats, lunchboxes, and water bottles, and they may not always remember which one belongs to them. Clearly named items make it easier for staff to quickly identify each child’s things, saving time and avoiding confusion. It also helps children begin to recognise their own name and develop independence by finding and looking after their belongings.
With the recent change in weather, please feel free to send in wellies that can be kept in the nursery building.
Kindness Day – 20th October 2025
You may have seen recently that the National Society of the Prevention of Cruelty of Children (NSPCC) are Running a kindness challenge week in October. Here at Netherlee we are embracing the idea of kindness to all and we are having a “Kindness Day” throughout the school and nursery on Monday the 20th of October. Please see the letter with more information on the activities we have planned.
Proposed Projects
This term we are excited to begin a range of outdoor projects with the children, helping them explore and connect with nature. Activities will include planting vegetables in our garden, den building, creating a Hedgehog Highway, learning about hibernating animals, and observing the wonderful seasonal changes around us. These projects will give the children hands-on experiences that support their curiosity and understanding of the world. If any parents or family members have skills, knowledge, or experience in gardening, wildlife, or outdoor projects, we would love your help to make these activities even more special.
Diwali
As the festival of lights approaches, we take this opportunity to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family. May this Diwali bring brightness into your homes, joy into your hearts, and prosperity into your lives. Wishing you a safe, peaceful, and joyous Diwali filled with love, laughter, and the glow of countless diyas.
Durga Puja
We would like to extend our warmest wishes to our families who have been celebrating the festival of Durga Puja this week. May the divine blessings of Maa Durga fill your home with happiness, peace, and prosperity. Wishing you a vibrant, safe, and blessed Durga Puja! Shubho Durga Puja!

Voluntary Contributions to Nursery Fund
Voluntary contributions to our nursery fund play a valuable role in enriching the experiences we can offer the children. While core activities are always provided, these contributions help us go further—supporting special resources, workshops, outings, and creative projects that spark curiosity and make learning even more exciting. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly benefits the children by providing opportunities that enhance their development and enjoyment at nursery. We appreciate your involvement and engagement with all aspects of nursery life and look forward to working with you again this year. Contributions can be made via ParentPay. Thank you so much to those families who have already donated.
