We’ve been practising throwing and catching balls in PE. We’ve also had good fun using the tennis bats to strike and field.
We have had a busy start in Primary 2 so far. We are still waiting for a few permission slips, however I have managed to include some photos of what we have been up to!
We all enjoyed taking part in our Highland Games yesterday where we tossed the caber, flung the discus, threw the shot put and completed the obstacle course. Some of us even enjoyed eating haggis for lunch!
As learners we have been completing a range of learning experiences covering numeracy, literacy, science, health and well being and much more. Last week we enjoyed taking part in a drama lesson outside. (we have some super photos which I hope to be able to share with you soon!)
As part of our topic Gravity, we made parachutes for our class farm animals. Then we went upstairs and dropped them (safely) from the balcony. The children really enjoyed this activity.
We made the most of the sunshine last week and watched our cereal box run outside which had a total of 382 boxes! Amazing effort. The cereal will now be donated to charity. Then we read a story ‘The day the crayons quit’ outside in our eco garden. We also looked at measuring in cm and went on a hunt to find different items to measure. We had a great week!
We had a wonderful day with our active sports representative Brandon who created a wonderful sports afternoon for the children. They partook in javelins, egg and spoon, relay races and tug of war! The children really had a fantastic day.
