Last week, Max was really interested about how calculators work. He noticed that one did not have any batteries yet still worked. We investigated this as a class today and looked into solar energy. Tomorow we will be discussing different sources – the sun, batteries and plugs. Can you find any at home?
Here is some of our work from today…
P2.5 love reading!
The experiment has changed today. It brought a lot of excitement this morning. The class think it will be easier than the lemon because it is bigger and has more space. Great thinking! 👍 Have a look at our video. 🍊555D8E6B-FC53-4119-BE2B-C756783E12DE
Today we are investigating money. We are looking at how much money is in a piggybank and sorting coins.
Aleeya – “the 5p coins are the same as the 50p coins but smaller.”
Jessica – “when you go to the shop you need to count your change. Most coins have the queen on the back of them.”
Sophie – “you need to count up the coins to see how much you have when you got to the shops. I have 40p.”
A busy morning at the writing table! We were inspired after our author visit yesterday and wrote about our favourite characters. 📝
As the children keep calling it, “the lemon”, is proving to be a tricky task. We have been trying to balance 20 pence coins on it. Have a look at our video! Tomorrow we will be trying to balance 10 pence coins. Do you think it will be easier or harder? Find out tomorrow! 🍋
