PE

Today Primary 1.1 joined Primary 1.3 in the gym hall.

We listened very carefully to the instructions.

We had to move in different directions and in different styles. We worked well together and demonstrated good sportsmanship qualities.

The Library

On alternate weeks half of our class visit the library and today was the first day that the children could choose a book to take home with them.

We had lots of fun exploring all the different books in our library and selecting our favourite to take home and share with family.

The other half of the class will be choosing their books next week. Books should be kept for two weeks and brought back in on a Friday. Happy reading!

Welcoming a Baby

Today Adrienne from our local Baptist church came to talk to us about welcoming a baby. We all thought about the different things that babies need to grow and thrive. Then we heard about the way babies are welcomed by the Church.

Exploring Symmetry

We had lots of fun exploring Symmetry and reflection outdoors. We imagined we were looking in a mirror and used our bodies to make shapes. Our partner then copied the shape to show the reflection. We then used natural materials to create symmetrical patterns, faces and animals.

Solo Talks

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the children in preparing their solo talks. The children were nervous, excited and very impressive. They were immensely proud of themselves when they got a round of applause from the class.

Well done Primary 1.1

Planting

We cleaned away the Autumn  leaves 🍂 and planted spring bulbs in the Eco garden. We look forward to observing the growth of our plants and watching them bloom 🌼 🌷

Solo Talks

We had a lovely time hearing all about Alexandra’s toy reindeer. Muhammad Fareed and Matthew talked about their favourite toy cars. Emily shared stories about her dog Pebbles. We heard about trips to London, Edinburgh Zoo, France and Disneyland and about being a big sister.

Well done to all of the boys and girls who spoke to the class today.
