Play!
Here are some pictures from us engaging in play! You will see some of us at the ‘Creative Area’ painting our clay models. Others are building using Lego at the ‘Construction Area’. Some boys and girls are playing in our role play area which we made into Hamden stadium! There are also some boys and girls completing their Numeracy and Literacy targets at our ‘Target Table’ and finally some playing at the ‘Fine Motor Skills Station’. Well done everyone!Â
Our Kindness Campaign!
Over the past few weeks we have been creating our own kindness campaign . Here are some pictures of us interviewing Mrs Noble, Frank our Janitor, Aminah the dinner lady and Mrs Donnelly for our Kindness podcast. We created our questions together as a class and then in our groups chose which questions we wanted to ask.  There are also some pictures of us creating a ‘30 Day Kindness Challenge’ for every class in the school. Great job 2.8!Â
3D Shape Hunt Outdoors!
Podcasting!
Practising our podcasting skills using the IPads today!
Symmetrical Shadows!
During our daily mile yesterday some of the girls identified symmetry in their shadows. They enjoyed making different symmetrical shapes with their shadows. We are always learning in p2!
Campaigners!
We have moved on to the Campaigners pathway of Mearns Masters this week. The pupils voted and chose to campaign for kindness. We made a mind map to record all the things we could do to persuade and encourage people to show kindness towards others. Some of which included creating a kindness blog, making posters, writing poems, recording a podcast, making a kindness challenge and much more. Today the children developed their literacy skills through learning about interviewing techniques and questioning. They took part in role play to practise this and wrote questions for our podcast. Well done for all of your fabulous hard work boys and girls! Â
The Designers!
Today we finished our wonderful dream catchers by following our design brief. This task helped with fine motor skills as well as inspiring our creativity! There were lots of a happy faces when we saw the finished product. More pictures of the complete dream catchers to follow! Â
Innovation Stations!
For Mearns Masters we are doing paper modelling. We learned different techniques to help us to make paper models. We also made innovation stations to use when we are at home!Â
DESIGN YOUR OWN CLASSROOM!
Today 2.8 designed their own classrooms. Some of the most popular themes included football, space and the rainforest. Over the next few weeks we will be busy transforming our classroom into a football stadium using skills in a variety of areas across the curriculum.Â
