Each of us were assigned a member of staff to write a letter to, wishing them a lovely Winter break. We loved going around the school to deliver these and the staff were very thankful.
As part of our letter writing focus, we have also now posted letters to new pen pals. These are the primary 3s at Netherlee Primary School and we are looking forward to receiving their responses.
We all had a fabulous morning at our Christmas party with the rest of the P3s. We danced, we laughed and we played lots of fun games. We particularly loved ‘pass the parcel’ and ‘corners’!
Today we put up our Christmas tree to make our classroom festive ahead of our Winter Concert. The boys and girls loved doing this on their own. We also listened to some festive music and did a Christmas craft.

Today Mr McKenna spent the morning in our class working on our coding skills. We were tasked with using digital technology to create something which could help the upcoming primary 1’s learn more about Mearns Primary. Some of us created informative cartoons on Scratch Jr while the rest used Spheros to map out directions (eg how to get to the gym hall, toilet, school office etc). This involved lots of trial and error to get the code right but we demonstrated determination to successfully reach our end product. Below is an example of a pair who created directions for the gym hall using their Sphero Indi.
We definitely want to use these again, they were lots of fun!
We were so proud to watch A on CBeebies starring in the show ‘I can do it, you can too’ where she learned to tap dance. This was also then shown at assembly 🙂 A huge achievement, well done!
