On Wednesday 13th April 2016 P5 and P4 had a Daffodil Tea. On the Friday we before our Daffodil Tea we had a visit from Miss Mckerlish from the Marie Curie hospital to say what she did. We wanted to raise money for them at our Daffodil Tea. We made cupcakes and cards and we sold everything in just a few minutes! At the end we had a spring activity were we had to make a bird feeder and we took it home because we had to put in the fridge.  We raised £157.50 for Marie Curie which was amazing!

Marie Curie

On Friday 8th of April P4and P5were visited by a lady called Miss Mckerlish who was from Marie Curie.  She was a secondary school teacher, a funeral speaker, and loads of other things.  She came to talk to us about Marie Curie which is a charity that raises money for cancer care and support.  She told us about different things that people do to fundraise such as going on a lot of trips and climbing mountains.  It was a very big help for us to understand what they do as a charity and how they use the money that is raised.  Did you know it cost £48 million a year to run the nine Marie Curie care homes across the UK?  We learned a lot about Marie Curie and we can’t wait to see how much money we will raise for Marie Curie at P5 and P4’s Daffodil Tea.
