We looked at our apples after one week. The one without the salt was all rotten. The salt has absorbed the moisture from the other apple and we could see how the mummification process would have worked on the bodies!

We have been learning about the Ancient Egyptian ritual of mummification. On Thursday we mummified an apple! We used lots of different things for our experiment. We left one apple to see what would happen to it and the other we covered with salt and bicarbonate of soda like the Egyptians did with bodies in the past.
