‘We split our group into roles. In my group Lauren and I were Santa and some people were reindeer and some were elves!’ Molly

‘In design technology we had to make a different version of Santa’s sleigh that was environmentally friendly and aerodynamic. We used tinkercad.com on the Chromebook and I enjoyed this a lot!’ James

‘I also enjoyed this because I like using the Chromebooks.’ Hamiz

‘My group made our sleigh electric powered by batteries and we put a hemisphere shape at the front to make it aerodynamic.’ Jessica

‘We also had to make it aesthetically pleasing, so we had to think carefully about the colours and shapes we used.’ Molly

‘During science, we had to separate different materials. There was flour and raisins, salt and water, rice and paperclips, sand and water.’ Heather

‘My table chose a funnel and filter paper to separate the sand and water mixture and it worked!’ Emilia

‘Writing was quite fun because we haven’t written about adverts before so it was quite different.’ Euan

‘I wrote from the perspective of Skye, who is an alien from a different planet and her ship malfunctions so she lands on Earth. She doesn’t know what snow is or what Christmas is either!’ Luca Fi

‘I also wrote from Skye’s perspective and I thought it was fun writing about an alien crash landing on Earth because it sounded like a real adventure.’ Ayyan

‘On Monday, Miss Bruce joined our class. She is a new student teacher who will be with us after Christmas for 10 more weeks!’ Isla

‘In Science, we had ingredients like sugar, salt, flour, pepper and rice. We put them into 100ml of water and investigated if they would dissolve.’ Hamiz

‘Our experiment was all about dissolving materials in water.’ Warren

‘We learned that soluble materials can dissolve in a liquid. If it is insoluble, it won’t dissolve.’ Jessica

‘Each group had a sheet and we had to predict which material would dissolve in the beaker of water. After that we found out the real answers by testing them. Soluble materials were salt and sugar. Insoluble materials were pepper, rice and flour.’ Ayyan

‘During Maths, some people were learning to place decimal numbers on a number line. We got to go into groups and create a giant number line and tried to figure which number goes where.’ Lexi

‘Other people were enjoying playing their favourite Maths game on a Chromebook. My favourite one is called Guardians of Mathematica!’ James

‘My favourite Maths website is Sumdog  because there are lots of fun games to play.’ Molly

‘When we were learning about algebra, it was tricky because there were two letters in the equation, instead of just 1.’ Sam

‘This week we also got to go on a trip to the local church! I enjoyed this not just for the cookies and juice we got but also because of the funny actors.’ Hamiz

‘The trip was all about advent and actors explained it.’ Skye

‘When we arrived at the church we got to watch the drama team acting out stories about advent.’ Lauren

‘We got to decorate larger tiles with mosaic tiles with different pictures, a candle, a stable or a present.’ Tia

‘On Thursday, a class at time, we got to see our buddies do their nativity play.’ Luca Fi

‘The nativity was really good and all the P1s were great at acting!’ Sam

‘I really enjoyed hearing their songs!’ Cara

‘In P.E. we did fitness in our classroom, as it was icy outside, with Joe Wicks.’ Hamiz

‘Our new reading book for the next few weeks is different because it is a whole class novel. We started by trying to draw out the front cover with Mrs Nasar describing it.’ Euan

‘The book is called Chill and we read that it is set in a haunted house, surrounded by snow and ice!’ Eleanor

‘On Friday it was Christmas Jumper Day but we also got to visit the present room! Everything was just £2.’ Heather

‘I think creating the posters was really fun and Mrs Hobson will reveal which ones are the winners in our class for a smelly sticker!’ Sam

‘In Maths, some people were learning about decimals. We used chocolate to  help us understand this.’ Tia

‘I go to be the teacher and explain which answer I thought was correct and why.’ Euan

‘Some people were learning to complete algebra calculations involving 2 steps.’ Luca Fi

‘In Maths, we were also learning about lines of symmetry in different shapes. We watched a video with a funny song – Everywhere you look, you see lines of symmetry, lines of symmteryyyyyyy…’ Lauren

‘In Health and Wellbeing we were learning about BOUNCEBACK. We got a text to read and each paragraph described helpful and unhelpful thinking.’ Jessica

‘After that, we read a cartoon and decided on which phases were unhelpful thinking and then we suggested advice.’  Eleanor

‘In P.E. we played a 5 a side basketball match and there were commentators who were Molly and Bruce. They gave all the spectators detailed information about the game.’ Ayyan

‘Star players were Ayyan, Luca Fi and Eleanor. The commentators helped Mrs Hobson to decide this.’ Molly

‘I think that editing our stories will make all of them better.’ Ayyan

‘My favourite was the Punctuation Station because it reminded me to add more commas to my work.’ Lexi

‘My favourite station was the Spelling Station because I got extra time to read over my work and correct any spelling mistakes.’ Dylan

‘I enjoyed all of it because it gave me a chance to improve on my writing.’ Lauren

‘In Outdoor Learning we were collecting leaves of different shapes and colours. Next week we are going to make bunting with these.’ Cara

‘There were lots of good leaves for this because they have fallen of the trees. When we collected them we wiped them down incase they had mud on them.’ Heather

‘This process is called solidifying. My chocolate was called Oreo Delight and I made a poster to advertise my chocolate bar,’ Molly

‘Today we also got to go down to the P1 classrooms and read to our buddies.’ Eleanor

‘When Luca and I went to read to our buddy, he had chosen Monkey Puzzle for us to read to him. It included lots of rhyming words.’ Euan

‘I liked to imagine myself inside the cozy house, sipping some hot chocolate, watching the snow fall down.’ Ayyan

‘With Mrs Hutchison, we were focusing on drawing continuous lines. This is when you draw one line and you finish when you have lifted the pencil off the paper, when the drawing is complete.’ Harry

‘I found it quite easy drawing scissors but it was harder to draw our hands.’ Heather

‘Everybody in class had to create Rangoli patterns to celebrate the festival of light, called Diwali. We drew flowers with chalk and we walked around to see what everyone else had created.’ Warren

‘We had a sheet with different examples of patterns.’ Lexi

‘The patterns included different shapes and lotus flowers.’ Bruce
