Week beginning 22nd November

‘Welcome to P6a’s blog. This week was Anti Bullying Week. Let us explain what we got up to!’ Molly

‘On Tuesday we got to meet people who work for I Am Me Scotland and they taught us about antibullying and how to stop bullying.’ Bruce

‘One of the workshops included writing a thank you message on a paper heart to help kindness spread through  the school.’ Sophia

‘Another workshop included thinking of ideas on how all the classes can show kindness to each other.’ Bella

‘After the workshops we went round each of the classes to teach them about what we had been learning.’ Isla

‘Now P6 are ambassadors for kindness in our school. Me, James and Molly got to go with Mrs Slorach to record a video for assembly all about kindness.’ Euan

‘During writing we chose one of our previous stories and rotated around five different stations, each had a different editing theme. We are going to redraft our writing next week with all of our changes.’ Molly

‘I think that editing our stories will make all of them better.’ Ayyan

‘My favourite was the Punctuation Station because it reminded me to add more commas to my work.’ Lexi

‘My favourite station was the Spelling Station because I got extra time to read over my work and correct any spelling mistakes.’ Dylan

‘I enjoyed all of it because it gave me a chance to improve on my writing.’ Lauren

‘In Outdoor Learning we were collecting leaves of different shapes and colours. Next week we are going to make bunting with these.’ Cara

‘There were lots of good leaves for this because they have fallen of the trees. When we collected them we wiped them down incase they had mud on them.’ Heather

‘We got lots of heavy books and used these to press the leaves down so next week we can use them for our bunting.’ Evan

‘In P.E. we were learning about fitness in basketball. At the end we got to play a 5 aside match and it was really fun because we got to use the hoops.’ Luca Fi

‘We played ‘Chicken Fight’ which is when some of the class were dribbling basketballs and the other half had to intercept them.’ Jessica

‘We also played Octopus Tig to warm up and I enjoyed this.’ Tia

‘It was really fun playing the 5aside matches because the game was so fast and it was hard to get the ball from the other team.’ Euan

‘There were 3 Star players this week because we all tried so hard and Mrs Hobson was delighted.’ Lauren

‘I was the best commentator for the games and was describing ever single move by every single team member,’ Bruce

‘In our Clans topic we had to guess what a painting was all about.’ Skye

‘The Painting was called The Last of the Clan and it was about the young, fit men emigrating to the new world (Canada, U.S.A and Australia.) At the start women, young children and old people were not allowed on the boat.’ Molly

‘This will be one of our last Clan lesson as we are going to move on and learn new things soon.’ Ayyan

‘Lastly, we also made Christmas cards to enter two competitions. We could enter competitions for Whitecraigs Care Home and a local MP. Myself and two others were picked as finalists for our designs.’ Leaah

‘My design had a snowman, gingerbread men and snowballs on it.’ Hashim

‘My design had Santa falling down the chimney!’Ben

‘We hope you enjoyed reading P6a’s blog this week!’ Hamiz

‘Stay tuned for next week as it is Road Safety week and the JRSOs will be holding a quiz in each class.’ Ayyan
