Week beginning 1st November 2021

Welcome to the P6a blog! Continue to see what we have been doing below.

‘In P.E. today, we started off with a warm up game (Octopus tig) then we moved on to our new focus, which was fitness in hockey. We learned to control the ball and how we should hold the hockey stick properly.’ Ayyan

‘In outdoor learning we had to find a natural object that looked like a 3d shape. The second task was to build a 3d shape!’ Hamiz

‘My team built a square based pyramid, using wood and a pallet.’ Warren

‘During writing, we were working on creating a setting by looking at a picture of a snowy woodland scene and trying to describe it.’ Molly

‘I liked to imagine myself inside the cozy house, sipping some hot chocolate, watching the snow fall down.’ Ayyan

‘With Mrs Hutchison, we were focusing on drawing continuous lines. This is when you draw one line and you finish when you have lifted the pencil off the paper, when the drawing is complete.’ Harry

‘I found it quite easy drawing scissors but it was harder to draw our hands.’ Heather

‘Everybody in class had to create Rangoli patterns to celebrate the festival of light, called Diwali. We drew flowers with chalk and we walked around to see what everyone else had created.’ Warren

‘We had a sheet with different examples of patterns.’ Lexi

‘The patterns included different shapes and lotus flowers.’ Bruce

‘In Maths we were learning about quadrilateral shapes. There was one called a parallelogram. Parallel means two lines that will never meet each other.’ Harry

‘There was also a shape called a rhombus, which is like a square version of a parallelogram.’ Eleanor

‘The reason why we look so funny in some photos, is because it was Break the Rules Day today!’ Lauren

‘Some of the rules we could break were wild, crazy hairstyles, we could wear onesies to school and we were allowed to wear different socks and shoes.’ Bella

‘Some people wore dressing gowns or onesies  or brought in diluting juice in their water bottles. This is all to raise money for new P.E. equipment.’ Evan

‘You had to bring 50p in for every rule you broke. Hopefully  we raised lots of money!’ Hamiz
