Friday 4th September – maths and literacy

We have been focusing on revising our important Primary 3 learnin before we add some Primary 4 knowledge.  In mental maths, we have been playing games to increase our fluency and speed with mental addition and multiplication.

In mental maths we rolled the dice to play noughts and crosses . We rolled it and we picked a times table and then whatever number it rolled on would be the question. (CM)

Mrs Allan said a number and then we crossed it on the number square then we did minus 20 30 or 40 (MA).

We have been continuing our work on our novel “The Boy Who Gre Dragons”.  We have used this book to practise our predicting, character descriptions and letter-writing to recap important information.  This week, we learned more about dragons, like the main character Tomas did.

In our book, Tomas went to the library to look for information about dragons (IM)

We were picking dragons and writing factfiles about them.  we were drawing, colouring and having fun (SB).

Friday 28th August – our learning so far.

We have been settling in very well to P4b.  so far, we’ve used our teamwork skills with Kapla, read our novel “The Boy Who Grew Dragons”, revised some Numeracy.  We also made some beautiful art for our new classroom., thinking about our likes, our skills and our talents.

We made a marble track with the Kapla. I enjoyed it (FM)

We were making art and saying what we think we are to friends. (CM)

We have been reading a dragon book and then we made triaramas saying where we were in the world on our dragon (AS).
