Solo Talks and Lots More!

This week, we amazed Miss Regan with our fantastic solo talks. We all spoke confidently and clearly, and it was wonderful to hear about the different aspects of football and the World Cup that everyone had chosen to research. The presentations were informative and engaging, and the posters were creative and beautifully presented. We are very proud of the effort everyone put into sharing their learning with the class.!

We also enjoyed using the Indi cars this week. We worked out what each tile made Indi do and created tracks for him to follow. It was fun experimenting with different commands and seeing how they changed his route. This helped us practise our coding and problem-solving skills.

This week, we completed a budgeting task where we were given a set amount of money to organise a trip to the World Cup. We had to research and compare different options for flights, hotels, and match tickets while staying within our budget. We looked at ways to reduce costs, such as choosing cheaper accommodation or flights, and also considered more expensive options to see how they affected the overall budget.

Sports Week!

We had great day over at sports day today and loved taking part in the potted sports and races.

We really enjoyed our rugby taster session this week from Alan from Whitecraigs rugby. We played different games to practice techniques used in rugby.

We also enjoyed creating our own Scotland world cup collages and think they turned out great.

Micro:bits and Stadium Designs!

We have been really enjoying our World Cup topic this week. We have been learning about the countries where the World Cup will take place. We then explored the different stadiums the players will be playing in and looked at the capacity of each one. Using Kapla, we created our own stadiums and added lots of extra fancy details.

We were really lucky this week and had a the P6 digital leaders come and take a lesson on microbits! The digital leaders were great and we have great fun learning to code u

Puppet Show and Endangered Animals!

During Health and Wellbeing this week we created puppets and created a puppet show. We made a short drama about why and how friends fall out and how we can resolve conflict.

This week, we created animal fact cards about the different endangered animals we have learnt about so far. We used the ipads to find different facts and included ways we can help on our cards.

News Reporting Fun!

This week we became news reporters and created our own news reports telling the success stories of some endangered animals that have moved off the endangered list. We had to do some research around our chosen animal, then create our script for the news report and then film it. They were amazing and  I must say I think we have some future news reporters in P3a!

We have also continued to develop our technology skills by logging on and off the chromebooks and creating word documents.

Busy Week in P3a!

We are currently learning about endangered animals. We used our reading books to find out information about Sea Turtles and find out why they are endangered. We then used our books to create a rescue poster for the Sea Turtles ensuring we used key information.

In Health and Wellbeing, we have been learning about the five main food groups and what types of food are in each food group. We have also been looking at the importance of being active and staying hydrated.

We are developing our technology skills and have been using the chromebooks to help us log on and off a device and practice our typing skills on a word document.

In PE, we are developing our tennis skills. This week, we looked at how we hold a tennis racket and how to serve the ball.

With Mrs Lazonby this week, we used skills of cutting and our knowledge of line to create beautiful flower bouquets.

Show Fun!

We had a great time performing our show ‘There’s a Sunflower in my Supper’ we were so proud of all our hard work and hope you enjoyed watching it as much as we enjoyed preforming  the show!

We also had great fun working on our music with Mrs.Lyall reading music and playing instruments.

We hope you all have a lovely Easter holiday!

Show Fun and More!

We are continuing to work hard on our show and can’t wait for you all to see it on Tuesday. Here is a little sneak peak below!

To celebrate Eid, we made festive lanterns which look beautiful!

We have also been working hard on our Imaginative writing. We have been creating our own stories, making sure we include our writing golden rules and some our literacy techniques like adjectives and similes.

Trip to Hampden!

We had an amazing trip to Hampden! We got a tour around the museum and then had a quiz to check some of our knowledge. We then got to go down and see the Stadium and it was amazing to stand in the tunnel and sit where the Scotland players would sit. We also got a little shot at different football drills. All in all it was a great day. Enjoy all our photos from the day below.
