International Albinism Awareness Day 2026.

On Friday we celebrated International Albinism Awareness Day which takes place annually on Friday 13th of June. The class have had some insightful and informative discussions on Albinism and  they have been busy creating information posters to display in our school corridors.

A group of children from the class delivered a fantastic presentation during our whole school assembly and impressed us all with their super confidence and excellent skills!

No Scotland No Party!

We were so lucky to have the singer Nick Morgan visit the school as the last stop on his “No Scotland No Party” tour of Scottish schools. It was a terrific experience and the children had the best time!

Commonwealth Baton Relay.

Each primary stage decorated a baton to carry during our Commonwealth relay. Due to poor weather we had to carry this out indoors, however this did not stop the whole school having a great time relaying these around the school. The children really enjoyed cheering them on as they came past us.

Sports Week – Karate Taster.

We are so lucky to have a number of fantastic sports instructors who come to Crookfur to encourage the children to explore new experiences in Sport. Terry Connell has a wonderful rapport with our pupils and everyone in P2B had so much fun practising some karate.

Sports Week- Judo Warm Up.

We have had a terrific time this week participating in all of the planned activities and we’re lucky to escape the rain during our Sports Day! Whilst we were waiting for our karate taster session, we had great fun doing a warm up with the Judo instructors.

Class Presentations.

As part of the development of Language skills in P2, we have given the children the opportunity to create and deliver a presentation on the subject of their favourite hobbies or extra curricular activities.

It has been a pleasure to see them all shine as individuals and build the confidence to speak to an audience of their peers and receive positive feedback and encouragement from each other.

Eid Mela 2026

At Crookfur we love to embrace and celebrate everyone’s beliefs and cultures. And we were very excited to experience Crookfur’s 1st Eid Mela event to mark this year’s Eid.

We designed our own mosques and used construction materials and clay to make these. Some of the children chose to share how they celebrated Eid with worship, traditions and being with their families.

Museum of Rural Life Trip.

P2 had a fantastic time visiting the Museum of Rural Life and were delighted to meet the newborn lambs and calves at the farm. We met one of the farm cats called Sweep and Maggie the farmer told us that over 200 lambs were due to be born!
There was a super interactive workshop on the journey of food and lots of interesting farming history and artefacts to look at. And of course there was the very important tractor ride too!
