This week, P1 had some very special visitors as the fire fighters came to our school to support our topic, People Who Help Us. The children were very excited to learn all about the important job that fire fighters do to help keep us safe.

The fire fighters showed us their special uniform and equipment. Everyone had the chance to try on their heavy helmet. We learned why fire fighters wear protective clothing and how it helps keep them safe during emergencies.

We also got to explore the fire engine and even sit inside!

One of the highlights of the visit was getting to try the fire hose. It was very exciting to see how powerful the water was!

The children asked lots of fantastic questions and learned so much about the role of fire fighters within our community. We would like to say a big thank you to the fire fighters from Clarkston Fire Station taking the time to visit us.

What a memorable experience for everyone in P1!
