Last week our classroom smelled like a bakery as we attempted to make our very own shortbread after learning about Scottish food and drinks.
Working together, we looked carefully at the recipe to ensure our measurements were just right. We took turns to make sure everyone had a chance to lead and tried to mix and knead the dough until it became the perfect consistency.
Our first batch was a bit of a learning curve (little crumbly) but that didn’t stop us. We tried to work out what went wrong, adjusted our technique and our second batch turned out golden, crumbly and resembled shortbread much to Mrs Denholm’s relief and delight.
Here are some pictures of the bakers in action.

Enjoy the weekend! It sounds like there are lots of lovely plans and some birthdays being celebrated. Can’t wait to hear all about them on Monday.
