No Scotland, No Party!

On Tuesday we were so excited to sing and dance along to Nick Morgan’s ‘No Scotland, No Party’ and a few of his other songs. We were very loud and waved our flags proudly 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This week we have begun learning about People Who Help Us with a particular focus on our community. We discussed the Emergency Services and how they help us and then considered who we see regularly in our community who help us. This included shopkeepers, librarians, vets, bin men and the lollipop lady who helps us cross the road each morning as we come into school.

We all wrote a postcard to a person in the community thanking them for their help. We looked at the layout of a postcard and had a go at including the address and a short message.

Sports Week

We had an excellent, yet tiring, Sports Week and were very lucky to participate in lots of different activities.

On Monday we took part in a Dance class taken by Miss Lamb. We learned a short routine and had to think a  lot about direction and movement.

On Tuesday we took part in a tennis session led by a coach from Whitecraigs Tennis Club. We played some games, got used to the feel of the tennis ball by throwing and catching it and got to use the tennis racquet to try and balance and then bounce the ball.

The main event was Sports Day and we didn’t let the rain put us off.

We were raring to go…

First up was football where we had to kick the ball and try to score a goal.

Probably the most favourite station, The Space Hoppers. There was plenty of smiles and lots of wet bottoms!

After that, we did the baton relay and had to run with the baton and then pass it to the next person in the team.

The final station was the bean bag toss where we had to try and get the bean bags into the hoops.

Well done to the winners of our flat race who ran an excellent race however everyone was a super star on the day and the most important thing was having fun 🙂
