Common Word Challenge
We enjoyed our common word challenge. We had to take turns to give our partner a word to write. They had to sound out the letters and then we helped each other by peer assessing to check if the words were correct or offer help to make changes.
Story Books
We spent time using our reading skills to read new books. One of the stories was about a big rabbit that got stuck in a hole. In another book the boy and the girl were watching TV. They were watching animals and talking about the different kinds of animals. We enjoyed discussing the characters and the sequence of events.
Monsters
We selected the theme of monster for our literacy learning this week. We read stories together and used new texts to decode words. We made monster pictures and wrote monster stories, which we are very proud of. We have made a lovely display in our classroom to share our work with others.
Ladybird bonds
We worked with our partners to look at all the different ways we could arrange the ladybird’s spots to make 10. We also used the number rhyme from our recent assembly to help us remember all the different combinations.
Outdoor Play
We are in the process of developing our outdoor play area. We took time this week to help sort out the equipment and come up with ideas of how we could develop and use the area. We enjoyed investigating and exploring all the different materials.
Activities we are proud of
Ollie and Ibrahim are proud of the tricky calculations they created on the easel.
Abu is pleased with his letter practice.
Finlay is proud of his list of number bonds for 9.
Zara worked hard to sound out and write each word.
