Toy Story Assembly by 1C

P1c are so proud for delivering a fantastic and entertaining show to everyone! We hope everyone enjoyed it just as much as we did.

Here is a progression of lessons that we completed whilst exploring our Toys Topic! These lessons helped create our assembly show as we wanted to display all of our learning about toys from the history of toys, understanding what an old and new toy is and investigating different forces.

At the beginning, we were learning the differences between old and new toys and what the different properties were within them.

We sorted out a variety of toys under two categories: Old and New.

During our time at a toy workshop, we got to explore toys dating back as far from the 40’s!

As you know, 1C are ‘Best Selling Authors’ for writing their own Non-Fiction Book called ‘All About Toys’! We wrote about favourite toy, interviewed our Grandparents and written up a Science Investigation!

We are also the youngest Scientists as we learnt that toys have different forces. They can be pushed and pulled. Here are some different ways the children were exploring different forces. We also had to solve different scenarios and contemplate whether it was a push force or a pull.

After discovering different forces, we explored different materials that can be used to create our own favourite toy.

And now for the main event, pictures from the assembly today!

1c decided they wanted to incorporate the theme of friendship within the assembly show. Andy (played by David) was tired of playing with old toys and wanted a new toy. This hurt the feelings of his toys. However, Andy learned that no matter how different we all are, we can still be friends.

Everyone was so excited to meet the WORLDS BEST SELLING AUTHORS!

Well done to Primary One for all their hard work! You are all superstars!
