October 2025!

October has been a very busy month for Primary 6!

We have enjoyed a visit from the Panto – Jack and the Beanstalk! This was a real treat.

Our topic this term has been Titanic and we have been exploring life on board this ship.  We took on the role of different characters that were on board the ship in a character hot seating activity. We had to identify which class each passenger was from based on the information provided during the interview.

Then we became artists on board the Titanic and created portraits of our passengers we were focusing on the skill of shading.

We had a very exciting treat from our local fire brigade they came to remind us all to be safe around fireworks. We also got to explore the fire engine and they explained how they used their equipment.

In the lead up to Halloween we have been doing lots of spooky activities from writing ghost stories to creating our very own “The Ghostly Night”

Science Space

We have been learning about size, scale and motion in Space.

First we compared the sizes of the planets using fruits. Then we learned about the order the planets are away from the sun which affects the planets temperature and features.

Next we learned about the phases of the moon and compared gravity. We did a moon jump experiment to see how far we would jump on the moon.

Welcome to P6. 2

Welcome to Primary 6. 2 !

Wow we can’t believe that we have been back at school for 3 weeks already!

We have been busy, busy, busy.

We have been showing off our artistics skills  and creating self portraits that show all the things that we like to do.

In Literacy we were working on acrostic poems that helped to show more about us.

We have been learning all about our brain and how everyone’s brain is different. They are no two brains the same.

We have been exploring time and volume in numeracy.

Our novel study this term is Spaceboy by David Williams.

We are looking forward to welcoming you into our classroom in a few weeks time at our open afternoon.

Thank you for all the continued support.

Chemical Reactions

  1. P5 have been learning about chemical reactions this afternoon! We mixed baking soda and vinegar. We observed that there was a gas and smell given off and the temperature dropped meaning it gave off heat. We also made posters on what we learned.
