Clyde Travel Management have partnered with Microcom Training to provide a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking to enter the highly competitive Business Travel sector through our Modern Apprenticeships Programme.

As one of the UK’s leading Business Travel agencies, with a presence in the USA, Scandinavia and Asia, we provide an invaluable service to organisations across a number of industries, ensuring the safe and efficient travel of staff to all corners of the world, in a precise and timely manner.

Based in our Glasgow office, successful applicants will gain a one-year fixed term employment contract, learning all aspects of business travel from bookings and supplier relations, through to finance, as you work across various departments, learning directly from industry experts, many with decades of experience.

At the same time, you will work with representatives from Microcom to gain your Business and Administration Apprenticeship SCQF Level 6 qualification. This advanced qualification is aimed at candidates managing a broad range of activities with significant complexity, responsibility and autonomy, and is suitable up to and including the level of supervisors and team-leaders.

We accept all National 4 & 5 qualifications and above, but candidates must hold a National 5 qualification in English.

MORGAN STANLEY GLASGOW – APPRENTICESHIPS NOW OPEN

Morgan Stanley is currently accepting applications for our Apprenticeship Programmes in our Glasgow office. The Apprenticeships, which are aimed at school leavers, provide an alternative to University for those who are both ambitious and academically strong. The programmes offer the chance to study towards a qualification whilst also gaining practical industry experience and earning a salary.

For a number of years now, as you may be aware we have offered apprenticeships in both Finance and Technology, this year we are launching our new Operations Apprenticeship program. I have included a summary of all three programmes below for your information:

 

Morgan Stanley Glasgow: Technology Apprenticeship Programme 2020

 

  • 4 year Graduate Apprenticeship in Software Development BSc (Hons) delivered in partnership with Strathclyde University
  • 4 Higher Grades at BBBB, 1 of either Maths or Computing or Physics plus Nat 5 English

  • 3 year programme taken in line with study for the ACCA Foundation Diploma
  • Expectation to progress onto Analyst Level and complete ACCA Professional Qualification
  • 4 Higher Grades at BBBC (1 sitting) or 4 Higher Grades at BBBB (2 sittings) or equivalent including Maths and English

BAE SYSTEMS NAVAL SHIPS – APPRENTICESHIP RECRUITMENT OPEN EVENING – 12 DECEMBER 5-7 PM

BAE Systems are hosting an open evening at West College Scotland on the 12 December from 5pm-7pm where potential applicants/ teachers/ careers staff/ parents & guardians can come along and listen to talks on our various programmes and speak to our development coaches and currents apprentices.

I will email out those who register a couple of days before the event with timings for talks to allow people to time their visits.

The session is an open evening unlike previous years that we have held onsite where people have to attend at a set time and stay till the end.

MERCHANT NAVY OPEN DAY – CITY OF GLASGOW COLLEGE – Saturday, November 23, 2019 – 09:30 to 15:00

Our Merchant Navy Open Day will give you an insight into a career in the maritime industry and the training programmes you need to qualify as a ship’s navigation or engineer officer in the merchant navy.  It will take place in our award-winning Riverside Campus on the River Clyde at 21 Thistle Street, Glasgow G5 9XB.  We are open from 9.30am-3pm.

What to Expect on the Day

  • You can talk to our current cadets who’ll share their experience of training and life as a cadet at the College and on board ship.  Read about our student Jake Napoli who is studying for an HND in Marine Engineering.
  • Recruitment & training representatives from shipping companies and lecturers from the college will be here all day to share information with you about our courses and a life at sea.  Shipping companies that have attended in the past include – Clyde Marine Training, Ship Safe Training Group, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Royal Navy Reserves, V-ships, Shell, Carnival Cruises, Chiltern Maritime, Princess Cruises, Anglo Eastern, Stream Marine, AW crewing, RFA.
  • Our ship simulators and working engine room will be open all day for visitors to take part in activities.
  • To promote careers at sea for women, we will have a “Women Into Maritime” stand with ambassadors and female cadets on hand to share their experience.
  • It is a good idea to have a copy of your CV with you. It means you can pass this to the companies who are attending on the day, and potentially receive an interview from them.
  • We are open from 9:30am – 3pm so pop in and have a chat.

CAMPBELL DALLAS ACCOUNTING – CAREERS INFORMATION EVENING – THURSDAY 21 NOVEMBER – 6-8 PM

Our AAT Campbell Dallas’ Information evening is a great opportunity for ambitious pupils looking to kick start their accountancy careers and are interested in further information on the programme.

The purpose of our information evening is to welcome pupils along with their parents to our office to gain a clear understanding of the structure of the programme that we offer, speak with our trainees currently on the programme and to learn of their experience and finally to get a real feel for our business and what we can offer as an employer.

BAE SYSTEMS – APPRENTICESHIPS OPEN 1 NOVEMBER!

Apprenticeships-  Our recruitment window opens on November 1st  2019 and closes on the 28th of February 2020.  Applications can be found online at www.baesystems.com/apprentices .  Students will complete an application form and once submitted will automatically be sent some online testing to do.  I would advise they practice before beginning.  www.shl.com offers helpful practice tests.  We test on English, Math and Mechanical reasoning.

Once the link for the tests has been activated it must be completed.  The link also expires within 7 days of receiving.

Successful students will then be invited to an interview (usually in April during the Easter holidays).  Start date would be August 2020.  We are looking to recruit around 60 apprentices this year.
