ADMIN MODERN APPRENTICESHIP VACANCY – GLASGOW

SDS are continuing to co-ordinate the application process for the Scottish Government Modern Apprentice vacancies, by working with those eligible individuals currently on the unemployed register, who may be interested in applying for jobs within this organisation.

There is a Modern Apprentice opportunity for an MA Communities Administrative Officer based in Buchanan House, Glasgow.

This vacancy is open to young people aged16-24 years old, unemployed, who are capable of completing an SVQ level 2 in one year).  Young people contracted to work less than 16 hrs per week are also eligible.

Unfortunately the Scottish Government cannot support to SVQ level 3 therefore young people who have already completed the SVQ level 2 in business administration would not be eligible.

Candidates should explain in their CVs specifically how they meet the competencies indicated in the job description attached and should include a short covering letter.

COMBAT SYSTEMS TECHNICAL APPRENTICESHIP VACANCIES – BAE SYSTEMS – CLOSING DATE 28 FEBRUARY 2015

BAE-SYSTEMS-150x150[1]There are eight new Combat Systems Technical Apprentice vacancies which will see successful candidates cutting their teeth on the ‘brains’ of the Royal Navy’s next generation warships – Combat Systems. The new apprenticeship will teach the design, development and integration of state-of-the-art naval combat systems, which crew members in modern warships depend upon to operate effectively. Combat systems includes IT infrastructure and complex electronic equipment, such as radars and sensors.

The eight new apprentice roles means BAE Systems is now recruiting a record 173 early careers positions in Glasgow alone this year, including 121 apprentices and 34 graduates, as well as 13 paid industrial placements and five paid summer internships. In total, there will be more than 250 apprentices and graduates undergoing training with BAE Systems in Glasgow in 2015, making it one of Scotland’s largest early careers programmes.
