Job Description

Our Application Specialist apprenticeship is your opportunity to start crafting the future of the digital industry. Liaising with customers and suppliers, you will be supporting development, fixes and enhancements for new and existing applications.

– Providing application support for existing applications and solutions; including troubleshooting, system monitoring and incident resolution.
– Developing and implementing fixes and enhancements to existing applications, using various tools.
– Developing and implementing new applications using various tools.
– Liaising with both customers and suppliers for the resolution of application incidents and problems.

Skills Required:

– Good Analytical and problem solving skills, Ability to analyse problems from multiple angles in a thorough, comprehensive way, with a methodical and logical approach to problem solving
– Good written and verbal communication skills
– Ability to develop good relationships with colleagues and customers and be an excellent team player
– Ability to organise and prioritise work in an effective manner
– A demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for IT, e.g. an awareness of industry knowledge and trends, evidence of IT learning, personal research into IT sector.

Qualifications Required

All our apprentices will need a minimum of five GCSEs at A-C grade – including Maths and English and two A levels for Higher Level schemes. A strong interest in IT is desirable – but we’ll train you in everything you need to know, and you won’t necessarily need to have any technical expertise if you’re looking at one of our more business-oriented roles.

This post will be based within Ward 49 (Gynaecology) in the Obstetric and Gynaecology Unit although will also involve working in the Day Ward, Women’s Health Clinic and Gynaecology Clinic.   This is a two year apprenticeship which will involve working towards the Level 2 Healthcare Support (clinical) MA Framework.   Starting salary of £ 12,672.10.

Minimum qualifications required: National 4 English and two other National 4 qualifications (or equivalent)
