What’s on offer?

How do we do this?

You would be part of a programme that allows you to work across different companies that make up Scottish Leather Group at our sites based in Paisley, Bridge of Weir and Glasgow. You will gain practical “on the job” training that allows you to develop “hands-on” experience and gives you transferable skills. In your first year you will achieve an SVQ Level 2 in maintenance engineering and also be studying towards achieving an HNC/D in your offered discipline. This is an excellent opportunity that could lead to a long term career with the Group.

What we are looking for…

• National 5 or equivalent e.g Credit Standard Grade in maths and physics or other technical skills ( or if you are sitting your exams – likely to achieve these grades – NB. Offer subject to achievement of qualifications required

Please see below for details of an exciting new apprenticeship programme within NHS GGC. 

We are looking to recruit 10 apprentice Community Dental Health Support workers on a two year apprenticeship programme within our Oral Health Directorate.

The Oral Health Directorate (OHD) is hosted within the East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP).   The OHD supports health improvement programmes of care throughout all HSCPs area of NHSGGC.  These posts are based in various locations throughout NHSGGC including:

• Glasgow City
• East Renfrewshire
• East Dunbartonshire
• Inverclyde
• West Dunbartonshire
• Renfrewshire

These posts are part of multi-disciplinary teams which provide support to care staff, individuals and families, to improve their nutrition and oral health.

The post holder will work across a range of placement settings including  family homes, nursing homes, prisons, community and primary care dental service settings and will facilitate access to oral health promotion, dental preventive and treatment services through all Dental Public Health Programmes.

During the apprenticeship period you will be trained, developed and supported to carry out the duties including:

• Contact with parents and carers of all new births, as allocated by the caseload within the Child and Family Health Teams, to discuss oral health and determine their needs.
• To Provide oral health and infant nutrition advice in the family home and through community activities, for example, weaning fairs, Signposting parents to groups e.g. Breastfeeding, Demonstrating toothbrushing techniques to parent/ carers,
• To record and maintain client information utilising appropriate systems and documentation as employed by Child and Family Health Teams/Health Improvement and the Childsmile/Priority Group programmes.  This includes handling of sensitive information relating to family circumstances.
• To promote Childsmile and oral health to a range of health, community and family groups including care staff, older people, prisoners, and homeless.

The starting salary for these apprenticeships will be £13,487.

Minimum entry requirements for the posts: National 5 English at Grades A-C (or equivalent) and two other National 4 (or equivalent) qualifications

Business and Administration Modern Apprenticeships

Various Employers (Including Barrhead Travel) throughout East Renfrewshire and Glasgow

37 ½ hours per week

Modern Apprenticeship Rate: £2.73 per hour (minimum)

applicants should be aged 16-19 years old and be willing to work towards completing a Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration (Level 3).

This is a two year apprenticeship working within the Health Visiting team.  The apprentice will work towards completing an SVQ in Social Services (Children & Young People).

Minimum academic requirements:  National 5 in English (or equivalent) and two other National 4 qualifications (or equivalent)

My firm is currently seeking a junior member of staff to work in our central Paisley office. The successful application will be required to assist secretarial and administration staff and their duties will include general administration, typing, filing, photocopying, scanning, answering telephones and working in reception area, delivering mail and other general office duties. The successful candidate must be computer literate, well presented, a good team player and have attention to detail.   My firm believes that this role would suit a school leaver with ambition to progress within the firm. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided. The hours of work would be Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

Band 2 Assistant Technical Officer, Cardiac Physiology (Cardiology) – based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Hospital

This post will be based within Cardiology and will involve working at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (inpatients) and the Cardiology outpatient clinic at Stobhill Hospital.    This is a two year apprenticeship which will involve working towards the Level 2 Healthcare Support (clinical) MA Framework.   Starting salary of £ 12,672.10.

Minimum qualifications required: National 4 English and two other National 4 qualifications (or equivalent)
