MODERN APPRENTICESHIPS – DHL – GLASGOW AIRPORT

DHL at Glasgow Airport currently have 2 Modern Apprenticeship vacancies for a Trainee International Freight Forwarder, enrolling onto a Business and Administration Modern Apprenticeship.

Job overview – An Apprenticeship to develop towards becoming an International Freight Forwarder, whose overall aim is to manage or support our Customers’ logistics by arranging the movement of Freight via Air or Ocean, and /or Road.  This can include Exporting and Importing Goods from and to the UK and across the World.

Key Activities can include:

  • Develop relationships with customers (internal/external)
  • Ensure  all customer enquiries are responded to promptly and professionally
  • Adhere to Customs Compliance procedures and documentation
  • Ensure each ‘Job File’ is fully and accurately completed
  • Work with Carriers and Handling Agents to resolve exceptions and discrepancies as they arise
  • Work with DGF departments on Ocean or Air freight planning and coordination
  • Liaise with DGF Transport & Warehouse teams on Ocean or Air freight planning and coordination
  • Liaise with overseas offices on Ocean or Air freight planning and coordination
  • Maintain mandatory milestones through the Company’s Freight Forwarding system
  • Use Company systems to create, manage and maintain the movement of freight
  • Update the Company’s  customer complaints system with all required inputs
  • Ensure that all interactions are compliant with DPDHL Code of Conduct and other compliance requirements e.g. anti corruption.
  • Contribute to the ‘First Choice’ continuous improvement program
  • Participate in Monthly Team briefing sessions
  • Complete all statutory and mandatory training as and when required

 

Salary – £14, 625 -£17,000

Working Hours – 9:00 – 17:30

Requirements –

  • Customer service focus

BARCLAYS LIFE SKILLS – CREATIVE HORIZONS – 6-7 APRIL

LifeSkills created with Barclays will be part of Creative Horizons 2020, which will take place on the 6th – 7th April 2020 in Central London*.

The two-day event will cover areas such as film, design, music, photography, advertising and many more. The workshop for 16-18 year olds is interactive, free and designed for young people who want to learn more about a career in the creative industry.

As part of the event, to help young people understand how different skills can support a creative career, LifeSkills will be delivering two sessions that focus on ‘starting a business’ and ‘creativity and idea generation’.

Throughout Creative Horizons 2020, students will gain an understanding of the opportunities available within the creative industries, and receive helpful and practical tips on how to get started with their career. This is an exciting opportunity for 70 students to get involved in a different type of work experience. Students will have the chance to hear from professionals in the creative industries who will share their expertise, whilst taking part in practical workshops.
