Main duties/responsibilities:  
Pioneer Mutual Credit Union based in Main Street, Barrhead are looking to recruit a Business Admin Modern Apprentice. Due to the nature of the business all applicants must be aged 18.

 

Duties will include:

  • Perform transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with high accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate transactional records.
  • Provide cash receipt and payment services in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.
  • Opening and processing new accounts.
  • Process loans
  • Social media analytics
  • Assisting in marketing and promotions
  • Provide members with excellent customer service
  • Membership surveys
  • Answering telephone
  • General admin duties

Training

  • You will work towards a Level 2 SVQ in either Business and Administration or Customer Service.
  • You will be visited by your Assessor every 2/3 weeks.
  • You will also receive training on the in-house computer system and ABCUL training which covers Data Protection, Money Laundering, Complaints Procedures and Customer Services, Security and Health and Safety at Work.
Experience required:
No previous experience necessary but must have an interest in working in Admin, Customer Service and Finance.

Basic IT skills are essential

Educated in English and Maths to National 5 level

BRITISH FILM ACADEMY – RESIDENTIAL COURSE

Are you 16-19? Passionate about film? Want a career in the film industry?

If so, BFI Film Academy Scotland Residential 2016 is for you.

Applications are now open for young people aged 16-19 from across the UK to attend the BFI Film Academy Scotland Residential, running from Monday 24th July to Thursday 3rd August in Edinburgh.

As a student of the Film Academy:

 You will get hands-on filmmaking experience which will help you to develop practical knowledge and skills.

 You can explore your own creativity and passions in a supportive and dynamic environment.

 You will work in teams towards a making a film.

Over the course of eleven intensive days between Monday 24th July and Thursday 3rd August, passionate young filmmakers will get the low down on the world of film, with hands on training in screenwriting, camera, directing, production, sound and editing, with participants collaborating to produce three short films, learn from some of the best producers, directors, screenwriters and craft talent in the UK film Industry through masterclasses, learn about the wider world of film, from education to development to finance and festivals with key industry professionals, given advice and support towards a future career, and spend time in picturesque Edinburgh.

Previous course participants have learnt from talent working on a diverse range of films including 45 Years, The 5th Wave, Adult Life Skills, The Angel’s Share, Children of Men, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, The Descent 2, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Girl with All the Gifts, I Daniel Blake, Macbeth, Not Another Happy Ending, Red Road, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Sunshine on Leith, Under the Skin and award winning short filmmakers that have screened at major International Film Festivals.

There is no charge for this course. We encourage all young people keen on this opportunity to apply, no matter your means. Bursaries for travel to and from Edinburgh may be available. Being a residential course, all food, travel and accommodation whilst in Edinburgh over the eleven days will be provided for.

Jointly funded by the British Film Institute and Creative Scotland, the BFI Film Academy aims to help train and inspire the next generation of British filmmakers, supporting talented and committed young people aged 16-19 to develop their commercial and cultural knowledge, and skills to help make a career in film a reality.

This opportunity is targeted at young people who are keen to develop a career in film making and have some experience in filmmaking; you may have attended a BFI Film Academy across the UK Network, be about to start a college course, or be making films independently. Any young person who has previously attended a BFI Craft Residential or is currently studying a film related course at university is not eligible to apply.
