Welcome back everyone! We’ve had a great start to Primary 3 and I’m really excited about teaching your children this year. Below you will find the homework for this week and a few reminders. Thanks for your support so far and please don’t hesitate to come and speak to me at the door or write in the Communication Diary.
HOMEWORK WEEK BEGINNING 2.09.19
- Mental Maths grid (you will find this in your child’s folder. Please ensure that you read the questions to them and record their answers)
Reading (finish the book over the 4 nights) /Spelling Authors: The Motorway Spelling: ea met, web, spin, tea, heat, leaf, each, who,which, seaside Illustrators: Kipper and the giant Spelling: ss/zz ox, run, from, buzz, cross, less, miss, there, they, crossroad
Poets: Wet Paint Spelling: ff up, man, crab, off, cliff, stiff, cuff, come, some, stuffing
Monday: Mental Maths , reading and write the first 5 words three times Tuesday: Mental Maths , reading and rainbow write the words from the night before (*rainbow write= write the word once with a colour then trace over it twice with another two colours) Wednesday: Mental maths, reading and write the last five words three times Thursday: Mental Maths , reading and speed write the words from the night before *speed write= write a word (from previous night) as many times as you can in 20 seconds and repeat for the rest.
Dates for the diary Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday- Please make sure that your child has their full kit for these days Outdoor learning will take place every Friday afternoon- Your child will need waterproof trousers, jacket and wellie boots
Our Open Afternoon is Thursday 5th September, 2pm-3pm (all welcome!)
Reminder- Please contact the school office or write a note in the Communication Diary, if there’s a change to the normal home time arrangements.
Por Favor- Now that outdoor learning is part of our everyday curriculum, we would really appreciate any donations of resources e.g. plastic pipes, guttering, metal pots and pans and old tyres.
