About Us

Religious and Moral Education (RME) is the subject where we explore some of life’s ‘Big Questions’, for example:

  • Why are we here?
  • Why do people suffer?
  • How can we tell the difference between ‘right’ and ‘wrong’?
  • Does God exist?
  • Is there life after death?

Pupils explore a variety of viewpoints, both religious and those independent of religious belief. Having explored diversity of opinions our young people are encouraged to form their own ideas and come to their own conclusions about these questions.

Through engaging with these questions, pupils will develop a variety of transferable skills including research, debate, analysis and problem solving. These skills are invaluable in the world of work and, indeed, life in general.
