Who are we?
The BAE Systems Naval Ships team design and build a full range of naval ships from offshore patrol vessels through to giant aircraft carriers
You may have seen our current ship, the Type 26 Combat Ship, outside on the hard stand in our Govan yard. We built this ship in two halves and steered them together in May 2021 – watch the video here, I hope they fit!
What can students expect?
On this one week programme students will develop their skills and experience through virtual live sessions and online activities devised and delivered by our apprentices and engineers. From combat systems to environmental engineers, project managers and steelworkers students will learn with experts in their fields, illustrating the impact they are making on the future of ship design and the wide range of career pathways open to students when they leave school. Students will work on an individual project and spend time with our early careers experts who will help them explore their strengths as well as school leaver opportunities.
How to register?
